Are you ready to learn more about recovery or even become a recovery support specialist yourself? RecoveryATX is your one-stop-shop for all of your certification credentials and general recovery educational needs. Whether you are looking for a State-approved curriculum to become a Peer Specialist, Peer Supervisor, or want to learn advanced coaching topics such as Motivational Interviewing, RATX has you covered. Recovery Support Peer Specialist - Core Training

The Core Training is required for certifying all Texas Mental Health Peer Support, Certified Family Specialists and Recovery Support Peer Specialists.

 

This prerequisite training covers concepts of recovery, as well as peer support basics & principles of peer support, trauma informed peer support, and key aspects of peer support.

Recovery Support Peer Specialist - Supplemental Training

This 46 hour curriculum for peer specialists seeking** specialization in supporting people with problematic substance use and recovery from substance use disorder.

This training meets Texas Certification Board, Texas Health and Human Services Commission requirements, and grants reciprocity for working in several other states if certified.

There are 10 hours of self paced work, with 36 hours of virtual classroom learning covering the following domains:

· Advocacy (Minimum of 10 education hours required)

· Mentoring/Education (Minimum of 10 education hours required)

· Recovery Support (Minimum of 10 education hours required)

· Ethical Responsibility (Minimum of 16 education hours required)

** It is very important to note that taking the training does not guarantee one’s placement in supervision, nor does the training in and of itself guarantee that candidates are a good fit for RSPS work in the field. But the training is a good place to start!**

Peer Support Supervisor Training

This Course provides materials that meet requirements the Peer Specialist Supervisor Certification in Texas.

 

Learners will be able to demonstrate strengthened skills sets for providing peer supervision to peers, which includes trauma informed approaches, advanced boundary-setting, and other basic information that will prepare candidates for supervision in Texas.
